About Lead Verification

Verification is a skills check to ensure that climbers are able to demonstrate competency to climb & belay using an Assisted Braking Device (ABD). Verification is required to access the lead wall, or if you wish to use belay methods other than that described in our safety briefing. It is applicable to all climbers regardless of prior experience/certification as the emphasis is on the climber/belayer's ability to demonstrate the required skills.

Notes:
- Verification must be done on an ABD as our facility requires ABD usage on the lead walls. All Lead Wall users should be verified before lead climbing and are required to use an ABD while lead climbing/belaying.
- After passing the Lead Verification, you can also use your personal belay device (either tubular or ABD) on Climb Central's top rope walls.
- Before signing up, you are advised to read the test matrix above and be familiar with the requirements and ABD usage.
- After passing verification, you will receive a Verification tag that is recognised at Climb Central and Ground Up (Formerly Climb Asia). Verifications taken at either Ground Up are also recognised at Climb Central as the test requirements are the same. If you have already taken the Lead Climb and Belay Verification, you do not need to take the Top Rope Belay Verification.

$10.90 (GST incl.) verification fee per pax for each verification.

Climbers who are attending the verification (including those who have been verified and are accompanying), will need to check in and pay for their entry.

*Sign ups must be in pairs. Please find your own partner who is either already verified, or taking the verification with you.

Youths (ages 13-17) & Adults (ages 18 and up) that:

Have attended a Lead climbing and belaying course
OR
Have at least 3 years Lead climbing and belaying experience

Time Slots: 6pm - 10pm

Slot 1: 6pm - 6:30pm

Slot 2: 6:30pm - 7pm

Slot 3: 7pm - 7:30pm

Slot 4: 8pm - 8:30pm

Slot 5: 8:30pm - 9pm

Slot 6: 9pm - 9:30pm

Slot 7: 9:30pm - 10pm

Do note that you are signing up for a verification session and not a course.
The verification fee does not include the entry fee. Climbers will need to pay for entry separately.
Do take note that first-timers who are new to Climb Central will have to register for an account, pay a one-time registration fee of $10.90 (GST incl.) and attend a mandatory safety briefing before they are allowed to take their verification test.
Upon check-in, do let the counter staff know that you have a verification booking.
You are advised to bring your own climbing equipment as rental equipment is subject to availability. Rental equipment is free for the duration of the test. However, do note that Climb Central only rents the MegaJul: if you wish to use another ABD, please have your own device on hand.
For Lead Verification: Please be ready at least 5 mins before the allocated time slot and look for our staff at the Grass Patch Area nearest to the Lead Climbing Wall.
Fees paid are non-refundable after payment has been made.
No changes regarding timeslots can be made.
We reserve the right to not conduct the verification for any late comers.
Invalid or double bookings will be cancelled.
